Dr. Sarah Marossy graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Optometry in 2000. Prior to her graduation, she was selected for a prestigious internship at The Bascom-Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, FL with a strong emphasis in sight-threatening medical eye conditions.
Since 2000, Dr. Marossy has become a passionate advocate regarding the vital importance of good vision in young children. She has spent countless hours writing grants and working with educators, public health organizations, and school nurses emphasizing the importance of early detection and prevention of children’s vision disorders. Thus far, over $45, 000 in grant and matching private donor funds have been awarded to the Idaho Children’s Vision Coalition and collaborating agencies, such as Head Start and Early Head Start.
In 2010, Dr. Marossy was offered the opportunity to add yet another experience to her career as a Governor-appointed Commissioner to serve with the Idaho Commission for the Blind and Visually Impaired. This is the first time an optometrist has ever been appointed to this Commission.
